Last week was a pretty good week for me. I managed to finish the last three workouts of Week 4 of the LiveFit Trainer program and made it to another Orange Theory Fitness class. I have to say that I am starting to really look forward to my weekly OTF class. When I tried the first class, I wasn’t sure how it would be able to fit into my weekly training schedule but I am making it work. One thing that I am really struggling with is finding time (and energy) to add in more running and cross training. I am also struggling with working out on the weekends, which is usually the best time for me to fit in a long run.

On Monday evening, I left work and headed to the gym. Since I didn’t finish all of the Week 4 workouts, I decided that I would focus on finishing those up this week. My workout on Monday called for a chest and triceps focused strength workout. With each strength workout, I feel like I am slowly but surely getting a little bit stronger. I am also starting to see a little definition in my arms. After my strength workout, I jumped on the treadmill for an easy run. It was shorter than I wanted but I didn’t leave work as early as I really wanted to.
With Monday being a long day, I went into wok on Tuesday pretty exhausted. For some reason, I wasn’t sleeping very well. I ended up staying late again on Tuesday and just didn’t have the energy to go to the gym. Pete had a pretty long day too so we decided that Tuesday was going to be a rest day. We had an easy night at home just relaxing.
On Wednesday evening, my coworker and I decided to try out the late class at OTF. We are still feeling a little lost during the classes so we thought it would be a good idea to try a later (and emptier) class for the next few weeks. The first two classes we tried were a power class and a strength class. This class was an endurance based and it definitely pushed my running limits. We spent the first 24 minutes of the classes running on the treadmill doing all sorts of intervals. I have made it my mission to get through an entire OTF class without having to stop for a walk break on the treadmill. I managed to do it for the first class we went to but have had some issues during the last two classes.
On Thursday, Pete was not feeling well at all. His stomach had been bothering him all day (we think it was food poisoning) so I decided to take another rest day. I grabbed some soup on my way home and we enjoyed another relaxing evening.
After work on Friday, I met Pete at the gym for a legs workout. My legs were wobbly after my strength workout so I decided to do 20 minutes on the elliptical machine to avoid having too much lactic acid built up in my legs. While I was doing my workout, I decided that I needed to repeat Phase I of the LiveFit Trainer program. I had been doing so well up until I started taking the OTF classes and I thought it would be a good idea focus on figuring out my new routine.
Going into the weekend, I knew that I wanted to go to the gym at least once. I wanted to finish up the last workout of Week 4 and I really wanted to get in another run for the week. I am trying to get up to a consistent 10 miles each week but that is proving to be a little bit harder than I thought it would be. On Saturday morning, Pete and I headed to the gym for a workout. I thought I would have enough time to get everything in but that wasn’t the case. I did manage to finish my shoulders and abs strength workout.
On Sunday, Pete and I finally made it to the movies to watch Pitch Perfect 2. I am a huge fan of the first movie and I have been itching to see the second movie. We went to the matinee showing and then grabbed some lunch. We were hoping to see another movie after lunch but that didn’t happen. We spent the rest of the day doing stuff around the house and catching me up on Entourage. Pete absolutely loves that show and really wants to see the movie so I am attempting to get caught up on all 8 seasons.
How did your workouts go last week? Have you seen the Pitch Perfect 2 or Entourage movies?
