Happy New Years Eve! Do you have anything planned for this evening? Pete and I talked about going to a friend’s party but I think we are just going to stay home to watch the ball drop. One thing that always goes to the top of my bucket list around this time of year is being in New York City to see the ball drop in person. I know that the crowds are insane but I think there is something magical about the whole thing.
Since it is Wednesday, it is time to weigh in on how I did last week with my weight loss goals. Losing weight during the holidays is a completely crazy endeavor to take on. With that being said, I really want to get a head start on my health goals for 2015 and that means attempting to lose weight during the holidays.

Week 2 Progress Photos
Even though I had a solid week of workouts, I didn’t lose any weight. Good news is that I didn’t gain any weight either. Considering everything that was eaten on Christmas and the following days, I am thrilled and relieved that the scale remained the same. Would I have liked to see the number to go down? Of course! My goal is to lose weight and get down to a healthy weight (again) for my body but losing weight every week is not a realistic expectation during the holidays.
I didn’t really set any goals for last week except to be reasonable with my food consumption on Christmas. That is a hard thing to do in my family. I also wanted to get in a decent week of workouts. Both of those things were accomplished and that is another big win for the week. This week, I am setting a few extra goals as well as keeping the old ones. Once again, there is a holiday thrown into the middle of my week so I need to be reasonable with what I eat and drink. I really don’t want (or need) to over do it. I also want to have another solid week of workouts. The Dopey Challenge is NEXT WEEKEND! Besides those two goals, I want to increase my water intake and get better about tracking my food. With the Dopey Challenge right around the corner, hydration is extremely important. Also, I lose weight better/faster when I accurately track my food.
How are you doing with your health goals during the holidays?
