Good morning! I hope your weekend is off to great start and that you had an Halloween. We only had one group of kids come to the house last night so my evening was rather uneventful. I think my candy bucket at work saw more action than the one at my house did. Halloween has never been a huge deal for me, especially because it usually meant that I would be subjected to scary movies by my family. I really like sleeping so voluntarily giving myself nightmares is not on the top of list. What do you think about scary movies?
This weekend is likely going to be my last free weekend for quite some time so I am planning to take full advantage of it. Copious amounts of coffee, delicious eats, and a ton of miles are pretty much the extent of my plans. Pete and I have a stock pile of some Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee to drink. We tried some the other morning and it was awesome! I didn’t even need to add any almond milk to it. I am also working on the finishing touches for a recipe that I have been working on for a few weeks now. Pete loves it but I have a few more tweaks to make before it is perfect. Oh and I am also running a half marathon on Sunday morning. My weekend is shaping up to pretty darn packed!
In many ways, October was not one of my best months. I struggled with a lot of things internally and externally. Many of my issues derived from the extreme number of hours I was working. Close to 60 hours a week for more than four weeks in a row is very trying on a person. Being stuck in an office for that many hours really took its toll on my creative juices and I questioned my love of blogging and writing. I wanted to write but I felt like I didn’t have anything to say. After quite a few heart-to-hearts with myself (and Pete), I finally feel like my creativity is on its way back! I’m going to spend the month of November working on really developing my writing and blogging. Have you ever felt like your creative juices had run dry?
At the beginning of October, I made the decision to press reset button on my life but not in every sense of the word. I just felt like my health and fitness was taking a backseat to everything else in my life. While I am not exactly where I want to be yet, I feel like I am getting there or at least on the right path. There is still a TON of improvements that I need make though. I am rather proud of the fact that I ran 74 miles last month! It was my second highest mileage of the year. My highest mileage month was actually January when I ran the Dopey Challenge. I am planning to make November my highest mileage month of the year!
What are your goals for November? What are you up to this weekend?
