Woohoo! Pete and I survived our first week of working out together following Jamie Eason’s LiveFit Trainer program. In the past, we have only ever gone to the gym together so that we would be held accountable. Now, we are actually doing the same workout at the same time.
When I first suggested this program, I was a little worried that we wouldn’t be able to do the workouts together. Mostly, I was afraid that it would be difficult since his weights would likely be much heavier than mine. It turns out that we actually kept each other accountable during the workouts. It actually worked out so much better than I was expecting.

The first week of the LiveFit Trainer program consists of 4 strength workouts and no cardio. Since I am total cardio junkie, we decided to do a short warm up before each of the workouts. By the end of the fourth day, we were crazy sore and decided that we needed to repeat the first week before moving along in the program. My normal appetite was completely thrown out of whack and I was seriously hungry all of the time.
I had originally planned to get in at least one run over the weekend but my body was exhausted. I can see why cardio is not part of the first phase of workouts. Pete and I do want to make and effort to add in our favorite cardio as we move through the program.
On Saturday, I hung out my sister and parents at the Magic Kingdom and Epcot. We were celebrating my mom’s birthday, which was on Sunday. It gave me the perfect excuse to do some in depth research into the Piggylicious Bacon Cupcake, a new addition to this year’s Flower and Garden Festival.
The whole Daylight Savings Time change totally threw me off on Sunday. I slept way past my normal wake up time. I ended up spending the entire day trying to catch up. We cleaned the house and went to the store. Unfortunately, I never really had the chance to go for a run and finish writing any of my many race recaps.
How did your workouts go last week?
