Koss Fit Series Headphones Review

Listening to music can be very motivating during a workout. The right beat or song can provide the boost you need to complete the last rep or push a little harder during the last quarter mile. For me, music quiets the mind and allows me to just run. Having music blaring in my ears keeps my mind from wandering to negative thoughts. It can be the difference between a horrible run and great one.

For a little more than year, I have been running without music and it has not been exactly the most fun. Many of those runs have been so mentally difficult that I considered giving up and turning back. Running without music was not a choice I really wanted to make but it sort of happened when I couldn’t find the right headphones for me. Every pair of headphones I tried has slipped out of my ears while I was running. On several occasions, I have ripped the headphones out of my ears and chuck them off to the side.

When offered the chance to try out the Koss Fit Series Headphones through FitFluential, I decided to give them a chance. These headphones were designed by active women for active women so I figured they had someone just like me in mind. Plus, one of my favorite female athletes (Dara Torres) of all time helped with the design. The Koss Fit Series comes in two different models: the FitClips and the FitBuds.

Koss Fit Series Headphones

The FitClips

Normally, I am not a fan of headphones that go over my ears because they either tug on my ears or just slip out. Not exactly what I am looking for. When I tried out the FitClips, they worked perfectly. They didn’t slip out or tug on my ear. In fact, I could barely tell that they were there.

The FitClips are made with soft, flexible clips that are designed to fit comfortably in a woman’s ears. The headphone wires are sweat resistant so they won’t be slimy or dripping with sweat after your workout. Each pair comes with three different sized ear cushions. I ended up using the small sized ones and they fit perfectly.

The FitBuds

Ear buds are my usual choice for headphones. I prefer ones that fit comfortably in my ear and won’t slip out. When I am not working out, I don’t have issues with the headphones that came with my cell phone. However, those headphones have a tendency to irritate my ears by the end of the work day. They also don’t work for me at all during my workouts.

The FitBuds were designed to smaller than other headphones on the market. They are actually 33% than any other earbud Koss has created. The wires of these headphones are also sweat resistant so there won’t be any gross wires to pull out of ears at the end of awesome workouts. Plus, these also come the three different sized ear cushions.

If you are looking for a stocking stuffer or gift for the active women in your life, these headphones would perfect. Normally, each pair is $29.99 but for the holidays several retailers are offering them for only $19.99! You can find the headphones at these stores:

  • Walmart
  • Best Buy
  • Walgreens
  • Kmart
  • Sears

I have tested both models are they have lived up to every expectation. These headphones would definitely be on my holiday wish list this year!

Do you listen to music when you workout? What headphones do you use?
