Happy Monday! I didn’t get a chance to finish up my blog post yesterday so I already missed a day of NaBloPoMo. I really need to work on my blogging efficiency so that I can accomplish one of my goals for November. In terms of workouts, last week was very good in terms of running. Unfortunately, I didn’t really do anything except for running. My goal for this upcoming week is to add in some yoga. I want to make sure that I am ready for the Wine and Dine Half Marathon this weekend.

Monday was a day that I would really like to forget. I spent 11 hours at the courthouse for jury summons and ended up being selected for a trial. I never expected to be spending that much time there so by the time I got home I was exhausted. Plus my legs were worked over from the half marathon I ran the day before.
I attempted to wake up early on Tuesday to do some yoga but I wasn’t in the mood. I decided to wait until I got home from work to go for a 3 mile run. The first mile was rough. My legs were still a little sore from Sunday. Eventually, they loosened up and my pace picked up. When I finished the run, my legs felt so much better than they did before the run.
Wednesday and Thursday ended up being a little busier than I anticipated. I was hoping to make it to the gym or at least run on the treadmill in our garage but it didn’t happen. When I got home from on Friday, I changed into my running clothes and hit the treadmill. I needed to run. I finished up 3 miles at a slightly faster pace than Tuesday and felt pretty good. My legs were back to normal from Sunday’s race.
On Saturday morning, I woke up to a dreary, rainy day. We had plans to go to Walt Disney World but the weather wasn’t looking good. While we waited to see what the weather was going to do, I got back on the treadmill for my scheduled 2 mile run. My legs were dead! It was supposed to be an easy run but it wasn’t very easy at all. I think that my legs weren’t quite ready for the less than 12 hour turn around time.
We woke up on Sunday to a gorgeous day. We decided to head over to Epcot for the Food and Wine Festival. When we got home, I knew that I still had a 14 mile run to finish. I changed into my running clothes and hopped on the treadmill. I made the mistake of watching a sad movie and my heart wanted nothing to do with running after the movie finished. My head was done after 6 miles! I somehow managed to finish another 2 miles before I called it quits.
How did your workouts go last week? Have you ever mentally checked out of a workout?
