Hey guys! How is your Friday going? This week has been so much better than previous weeks. I didn’t have to work well past the 8 hour mark, which means I could actually spend my evenings doing normal things. The best part of my week was that I managed to run twice … already! I have a 12 mile run planned for Sunday morning and I am not going to miss it. My training has been really slacking lately because I just haven’t had enough time in the day to get everything done. I could really use an extra 3 hours everyday.
Since my week has actually been pretty good, I figured that we needed a coffee date with plenty of gossiping and chatting. I am enjoying a cup of Starbucks’ Gold Coast Blend so I am ready to go.
If we were having coffee today, I would confess that I have a bit of an obsession for races. I was having a conversation on Twitter last night that made me realize just how many races I have done in the last two years. I especially can’t seem to stop running half marathons. I ran my first half marathon on October 1, 2011. I will be running my 13th at this year’s Wine and Dine Half Marathon on November 9th! By the end of March, I will have completed 20!!
If we were having coffee today, I would share that I have made some startling revelations about myself over the last two weeks. For almost two years, I have watched my weight increase and my average running pace increase. As a result, I have become increasingly frustrated and unhappy. A few weeks ago, I read an interesting blog post that really struck a chord with me. I started thinking about what has been happening in my life over the last two years and I realized that I stopped making myself a priority. I allowed work to take center stage and I put myself on the back burner. Apparently, my boyfriend spotted the problem months ago but waited until I figured it out for myself. Starting now, I am going to make a conscious effort to myself first again and to really work on finding the right balance for a healthy lifestyle.
If we were having coffee today, I would tell you that my boyfriend and I have already started to plan our vacations for next year. We absolutely love to travel. So when we got back from California, we immediately started thinking about our next big adventure. So far, we are strongly considering trips to North Carolina, Chicago and New Orleans. We are also thinking about another to a place that is much farther away but that one is still up in the air. Next year is going to be truly amazing!
So have you made any startling revelations about yourself lately?
