It has been a while since I made goals for myself. When I say that I have been swamped with life, I really do mean it. I really need to get my act together especially since the end of the year is fast approaching. Can anyone please tell me why time is speeding up? I would really like it if it would slow down just a little bit.
My goals for October are centered around the idea of “getting back to basics”. I have spent so much time over the last year trying to do things that I am just not ready for. I need to take a few steps back and really get back to the reasons why I started down this journey of losing weight, getting healthy and sharing my life with the world. With that being said, here are my goals for October.
My Monthly Goals for October:
1. Run at least 3 times a week. There are less than 100 days until the Dopey Challenge and I NEED to get on track with my training. For whatever reason, I have fallen off of the training wagon again and I once again stressing out about it. I also don’t want a repeat of what happened after my first full marathon. I know that I am going to hurt but I just don’t want to hurt as much as I did this past January.
2. Participate in Katy’s #OctoBlog Challenge. Back in February, Katy hosted a blog improvement challenge and I really enjoyed the motivation to check things off my Blog To Do list. Katy is hosting another blog improvement challenge this month that starts today. I spent some time over the weekend creating a list of 31 things that I want to accomplish this month to improve my blog and social media.
3. Complete Fat Mum Slim’s October #FMSPhotoADay Challenge. While I was traveling last month, I realized just how much I love photography. Many times, I found myself just walking around observing my surroundings and looking for the perfect shot that would capture what I was seeing. When I got home, I realized that I wasn’t doing that anymore. Way too often, I forget to observe the everyday and to look for the beauty in the world. By participating in the October #FMSPhotoADay challenge, I am hoping that I will be able to observe the everyday again.
4. Practice Yoga once a week … at least. I have mentioned this many times before but my yoga practice has almost completely disappeared in the last year. I truly miss my regular practice and I think my body does too. Despite knowing that I need yoga in my life, I haven’t made it a priority to get back into a regular practice. That is changing today! As I increase my training intensity, I need to make sure that I am stretching and cross training regularly.
