Last week was an alright week in terms of my workouts. My work schedule is slowing down but everything else is my life is picking up. We also had to contend with my boyfriend’s crazy work schedule. I am trying not to let his work schedule affect my training and workouts but it is harder than I expected.
Last Week’s Workouts:
- Monday, 6/10/2013 – Cross Training + Strength Training
- Elliptical – 1.47 miles, 15:00 minutes
- Strength Training – NROLFW Workout 1A #5 (36 minutes)
I did NOT want to wake up at 5:30 on Monday morning. It was really hard but I also wanted to start the week off right. My NROLFW workout added another set. To compensate for the change, I reduced the amount of time I spent on the elliptical machine. We only have an hour at the gym in the mornings and I didn’t want to take away from my weight lifting. I actually really enjoy the subtle changes I am already seeing in my body as a result.
- Tuesday, 6/11/2013 – Rest
So I was planning to go for a run after work on Tuesday because waking up early just wasn’t going to happen. Unfortunately, I ended up staying later than I expected too and I was crazy hungry by the time I left work. I decided that I would switch up my planned rest day to Tuesday instead of Saturday.
- Wednesday, 6/12/2013 – Easy Run
- 5.00 miles, 1:03.33 (total time), 12:41 min/mile avg. pace
I left work early on Wednesday to attend a cooking demonstration at Pelagia Trattoria (recap coming soon) so I had no excuse to skip my workout. When I got home, I did some work around the house before going for a run. I have to say that having a treadmill in the garage has been really, really helpful. There isn’t a good enough excuse to skip my runs during this training cycle. My easy 5 mile run was fantastic. My pace is slowly improving and my running base is building up nicely.
- Thursday, 6/13/2013 – Cross Training + Strength Training
- Elliptical – 1.65 miles, 24:00 minutes
- Strength Training – NROLFW Workout 1B #5 (36 minutes)
On Thursday night, I met up some of my local blogging friends at Besa Grill to celebrate Megan and Katie’s birthday. It was such a fabulous evening that I almost did go to the gym afterwards. I came up with a million reasons to skip my workout and just go home but then I saw a branch of my gym in the same parking lot as the restaurant. All excuses went out the window. It was super late and the gym equipment was not what I am used to but I still managed to get in my workout.
- Friday, 6/14/2013 – Rest
- Saturday, 6/15/2013 – Rest
- Sunday, 6/16/2013 – Rest
The rest of the weekend was not great in the way of working out. I needed to stop at the store on my way home on Friday to pick up some essentials. By the time I got home and ate dinner, it was WAY too late to go for a run. On Saturday, I spent most of my time cooking and working on some awesome recipes. I think I have finally found my groove in the kitchen again. Hopefully, there will plenty of delicious recipes posted throughout the rest of the year. Sunday was Father’s Day and I spent the day with my dad at the baseball game. We had such an great time. Unfortunately, the Rays lost to the Royals.
How did your workouts go last week? How did you celebrate Father’s Day?
