Eating after a good workout is important. Even more important is what you choose to eat. I like to have a simple protein shake or smoothie because it helps my body recover faster and it helps to control the insatiable hunger I have. That means I am always on the lookout for a delicious protein-packed and delicious supplement to enjoy. Enter Designer Whey.
A few weeks ago, I received this awesome box filled with goodies from Designer Whey. It contained traditional protein powders as well as protein bars, pre-made shakes, and protein 2 go powder.
Protein bars that I have tried in the past have always had a strange after taste. I ate them because I figured that is what all protein bars taste like. Nope. That is not the case at all. The Designer Whey protein bars are delicious. As my boyfriend said, these bars taste like a candy bar with rice crisps in them. The bars are naturally flavored and sweetened. They make for a tasty afternoon snack or a quick source of protein post-workout.
Sometimes I am not always in the mood for a protein bar even if they are delicious. The pre-made protein shakes are a quick and easy solution to that dilemma. I have tried other protein shakes but none of them have been exactly what I was looking for. The Designer Whey protein shakes are smooth in texture and had no hints of the typical protein-shake-after-taste. They make for a delicious post-workout, afternoon or mid-morning snack.
When I saw the boxes of Protein 2 Go drink mix, I was intrigued. I have considered bringing a container of protein powder to work so that I can have a quick morning or afternoon snack. Protein shakes help me avoid hunger cravings especially on the days that I work out. These drink mixes are even more convenient than having a container of protein powder. They are pre-measured and mix really well. Plus, they are delicious. The recommended serving is to mix one packet in 12-16 ounces of water. I mixed it in 24 ounces of water and it was perfect for me.
With all of the other yummy products in the box, I had high hopes for the two containers of protein powder in the box. I was not disappointed at all. The powders blended very well and the flavors were amazing. The white chocolate flavor was my favorite. I also loved that the fact that each scoop was only 100 calories.
When I saw the tub of white chocolate protein powder, I knew that I needed to create a delicious smoothie recipe. The first drink I ever tried at Starbucks was the White Chocolate Mocha. I really loved that drink but the calories and sugar didn’t love me. The protein smoothie I came up with is only 285 calories!
