Weekly Workouts: Dec. 31st, 2012

It is here! I can’t believe that it is the week of the Walt Disney World Marathon already! This time next week, I will be hobbling around with post-marathon legs.

Last year was not the year I wanted it to be. I wouldn’t say that I slacked off with my healthy habits, workouts and personal life in general. I would say that work became an overwhelming presence in my life and everything else suffered. I know that I won’t run the marathon that I was hoping for because I simply didn’t train as hard as I should have. I do know that I will do whatever it takes to cross that finish line on Sunday!

2013 January Weekly Workouts

My Workouts (Week of Dec. 31st, 2012):

My workouts last week did not go according to my original plan. I was hoping to get in 2 short runs during the week and one last long-ish run on Sunday morning.  I had a really big deadline pop up that needed to be taken care of immediately so I was only able to run once last week.

  • Monday, 12/31/12 – Rest
  • Tuesday, 1/1/13 – Easy Run
    • 3.01 miles, 36:33 minutes, 12:10 min/mile avg. pace
  • Wednesday, 1/2/13 – Rest
  • Thursday, 1/3/13 – Rest
  • Friday, 1/4/13 – Rest
  • Saturday, 1/5/13 – Rest
  • Sunday, 1/6/13 – Yoga
    • Relax Flow – 33 minutes (Tara Stiles’ This Is Yoga DVD)

On New Year’s Day, I laced up my running shoes and went for a run to celebrate the start of a brand new year. I practiced my run/walk intervals I am planning to use on Sunday. I am trying to avoid any surprises on Race Day, besides running 26.2 miles of course.

Yesterday, I had every intention of going out for my 8 mile run but my stomach had other ideas for how I should spend my day. Rather than fight with my body (I will be doing enough of that next weekend), I popped in a new yoga DVD from the This is Yoga DVD Library by Tara Stiles. I haven’t practiced yoga in MONTHS and I could absolutely tell that today. I was SO glad I chose the Relax Flow workout because it was a perfect way for me to reintroduce yoga into my life. I really need to get back into a regular yoga practice again.

How did your workouts go last week?

Disclosure: I was provided the Tara Stiles’ This Is Yoga DVD Series to try out and review on my blog through FitFluential LLC and Watch It Now Entertainment. As always, all opinions are my own. Also, this post contains affiliate links.
