So way back in November, I participated in runDisney’s Wine and Dine Half Marathon Race Weekend. I haven’t had the chance to finished my recaps yet. With another awesome one right around the corner (literally!), I figured it was time for me to get going on those. Just in case you missed them, here are my other posts about that weekend: Visiting the Food and Festival (again) and the runDisney Meet Up and Warm Up with Jeff Galloway.
When the Meet Up and Warm Up Event finished, I hoped back in my car and headed to the hotel. The Expo wasn’t open yet so I had enough time to take a shower before going to get my packets. My boyfriend was awake and waiting for me when I walked in the door. I quickly showered and changed then headed back out to ESPN Wide World of Sports.
Since this was my fourth Health and Fitness Expo at Disney, I knew exactly what I needed to do. I still can’t believe that I have participated in four runDisney races in just over a year! Unlike the other expos, this was the first time I was picking up multiple packets. Once we got inside the HP Field House, I hoped into the half marathon line first while my boyfriend scoped out the merchandise area.
Then I grabbed my 5k race bib.
After I got my race bibs and checked the timing chip, we headed over to the Jostens Center to pick up my race shirts and browse through the vendors.
I was surprised (and delighted) that the shirt for the half marathon was a long-sleeved tech shirt. I don’t have very many of long-sleeved shirts to run in.
The shirt for the 5k race was a cotton shirt, which means I won’t be able to work out in it. For this race, I didn’t really mind because the design on the front is absolutely fabulous and perfect for the theme.
While wandering around the Expo, I found an awesome shirt to wear during the race from Raw Threads. The same company I bought “The Evil Queen” shirt I wore during the Tower of Terror 10 Miler. Oh and just in case you were wondering (or haven’t figured it out yet), Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is one of my favorite Disney movies.
We also checked out the second runDisney Merchandise Tent. My boyfriend had already done a brief walk through while I was getting my race bibs. He warned me that I wouldn’t like the “I DID IT!” shirt and he was right. The shirt was just too pink for me. For the first time, I didn’t buy one of the official race shirts. We did purchase the pint glasses and a few extra pins.
Before leaving the Expo, we looked over the blown up maps and all of the runDisney medals. I wanted to make sure I knew exactly where I was going to be meeting him after the race.
Not only do I want all of those medals but I also really want that medal hanger!!
Next in this series is my recap for Mickey’s Jingle Jungle 5k!
