My Workout Clothes Obsession – pv.Body Review

As a fitness enthusiast, I love workout clothes but I can’t always afford everything I want to buy. In the last two years, my collection (and obsession) has more than doubled in size. I try to limit myself though because the price tag is usually pretty high and I like to save my money for race entry fees. So when I was given the chance to review a new subscription service being offered for workout clothes, I jumped at the opportunity.

pv.Body is a relatively new subscription service that provides you with one new outfit every month for a fraction of the retail cost. That sounds like a pretty good deal to me! Saving money on clothes I am already going to buy or desperately need.

Before I was sent any clothes, I had to take the quiz to figure out what type of workout clothes would suit my lifestyle. The questions range from “What is your favorite way to stay in shape?” to “Where do you prefer to work out?”. You also give them your preferences on the style and color palettes you like for tops and bottoms. That way you get exactly what you look for in an outfit to get sweaty! Based on my personal quiz, I am and Epic Athlete.

So what did the style gurus at pv.Body send me?

Top – Purple Racer Back Camisole

Normally, when I choose workout tops, I don’t go for the all-in-one or bra-in-top style because I need the extra support of a sports bra. So when I opened my package, I was a little surprised to see this top. After my initial hesitations, I fell in love with it for several reasons.

The rich purple color is a gorgeous shade. The material is thick and very durable feeling. The top is fitted and on the longer side so it doesn’t ride up while working out. I can definitely see myself wearing this top for yoga or just lounging around the house. However, the tank top just doesn’t provide enough support for me to wear it while running.

Bottoms – Black High Waist Pants

Living in Florida means that I can get away with wearing shorts for 11 months out of the year. That last month can be really cold sometimes but I have never felt the need to buy a pair of pants to run in. Not that it hasn’t been cold enough but I can’t justify spending the money for something I can’t wear year round.

These pants are very soft and comfortable. They even stretched to fit me without losing their shape or looking like they were stretched out. The pants also have a pocket in the waist band that can easily hold keys, a small cell phone, or an id card.

I am seriously considering signing up for the service. I like the fact that I can put the service on hold whenever I want. I can also send stuff back if I don’t like it and get something new. I think it is a great service!

I was very dissatisfied with pv.body. I found they had a horrible customer service for a non blogger. Glad you got what you wanted but my history is a lot different with this company…. I signed up mid October and was excited since I am obsessed with lulu lemon. I recovered my first package and was disappointed, top was cute howeve pants seemed to be a child’s size and was a medium. So I exchanged oct 31. After a month of not hearing anything, I sent numerous emails to Justin, a customer service guy. On dec 5 finally got a call about what I wanted included in my exchange items, thought things were looking up. However after not getting an email about my items being shipped and I emailed Justin again inquiring about my items. I received an email from Joshua saying that they changed the customer service team and that my items were shipped the week previous to dec 17 and should receive my items dec 21… Nothing came. Called today jan 2 asking about my package and to my surprise my package was never sent after 2 months and no communication about delays!!!!!’ I was lied to about my package being shipped when it wasn’t. So I needed to canceling my account since I was tired of all the lies and games. And I signed up when it was only $39.95. With the customer service the way it is 49.95 isn’t worth it to me after waiting so long just for a return and having it blamed on an influx of packages. Don’t understand that since many times I was told my package was being sent/processed before the holiday season. Not a good way to treat your customers and keep them satisfied.. Good luck to those who try to get their packages or even receive exchanges and waiting 2 months when they are not blogging about the pv body products

Gillian, I am so sorry that you had a such bad experience with pv.Body. I have not had any direct communications with the company itself. I was given this opportunity through a Blog Network. If I have any future dealings with pv.Body, I will be sure to pass along your experience. Customer service is something that every company should take pride in.

I have had this EXACT same experience by pvbody and have still not received my exchange since November after being told 3 times that it “definitely shipped”. Very frustrating to see bloggers promoting it like crazy when non-ambassadors are getting treated so poorly. I would NOT recommend this service to anyone right now.

Lauren, I am so sorry that you have had a bad experience with them. I was not directly paid by them to promote their service so I don’t have a contact with the company. I wish I did so that I could pass on this information. I have reached out to other bloggers who signed up for the service with their own money. One of them has had a poor experience and wrote about that on her blog. I really do hope that the company is paying attention to this and that the other bloggers are passing on the information. If I have the opportunity to directly speak with someone at pvBody, I will be sure to pass this information on.

I am going through an identical experience right now. Awful awful customer service. I would rather pay full price for a Lululemon outfit knowing that I will be treated well. I will be canceling my pvbody subscription. I’m bummed, I really wanted this to be great!

Thank you Rachel for your quick response. You were much more prompt then the company has been. I appreciate with you concern.

I’m also dissatisfied with my experience with PV body. I ordered an outfit11/19/12 and didn’t receive it until Dec 6th. The outfit was too small so it was returned Dec 14th. I still have not received either a replacement or a refund. The freebies still have not materialized. The company’s phone number just reaches a recording, there isn’t an option to leave a message. It was reported that the owner owner another mail order company that was rated F by the BBB. I just filed a complaint myself. BEWARE
