After the Meet Up and Warm Up Event, I
reluctantly left Disney’s Hollywood Studios to go find my boyfriend. While I was in the park, he had gone over to our hotel (Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort) and checked us in. Our room wasn’t ready yet (it was 10:00 AM after all) so he asked if they would notify us when it was.
When I met him in the parking lot, we decided to head straight over to the Health and Fitness Expo. I needed to get my packet and race bib today since it wouldn’t be open before the race tomorrow morning. On our way over to ESPN’s Wide World of Sports, we stopped at a gas station to get something to eat. I was absolutely starving and my boyfriend was in need of a snack. I am SOOO glad we stopped for something to munch on because the traffic trying to get into the Expo was CRAZY and we would have been even more irritable than we already were!
Eventually, we parked and made our way to the HP Field House where I needed to pick up my packet and race bib. This area wasn’t too crowded but there were still plenty of people getting their stuff.
I headed straight over to my bib number line. Imagine my surprise when I am given my bib and find out that I am in Corral C!!! I knew that my anticipated time (2:40 at the time of registration) would put me in at least Corral D again but I figured there were so many people running that I wouldn’t have moved up.
Because of how crowded it was, my boyfriend and I decided to see if we could find what we wanted in the runDisney Merchandise tent located in the HP Field House. Unfortunately, they were out of the pint glasses for the half marathon race. I had to go over to the Jostens Center anyway to get my goody bag and shirt but we were hoping to avoid the crazy merchandise lines. Oh well.
The Jostens Center was absolutely insane with people just as we predicted it would be!
As soon as we got down to the Expo floor, we
quicklymade our way to the back where the runDisney merchandise area was and where the Goody Bag/Shirt Pick Up was. While I picked up my stuff, my boyfriend went in search of the pint glasses.
He found the glasses!
Before we checked out, I found a magnet to display at work as well as the customary “I Did It!” shirt. People there are things that a Disney girl just needs when it comes to Disney race merchandise.I decided not to buy a second shirt because the “free” shirt actually fit me this time.
After we got everything we wanted, we didn’t stick around much longer. The Expo was just a little crowded making it very difficult to move around. Neither one of us could think of anything that I forgot or would need for the race tomorrow morning so we headed out to the car.
