Alternative Title: I don’t want to go home!
My boyfriend and I woke up this morning feeling completely refreshed. I guess sleeping 18 of the last 36 hours will do that to you. After taking quick showers, we packed up and got ready to head home.
Before we left, I snapped a few pictures of the view from our hotel room. The coolest part is that I actually ran by those things during the race the other night. Priceless!
I also decided to share on of my favorite Disney past times: Finding Hidden Mickeys. One of the things that makes Disney so special is the extra touches and special care that goes into every aspect of the resort. The entire weekend my boyfriend and I had fun finding the hidden Mickey Mouse heads around the hotel. Here are a few from our room.
The light fixture above the bathroom sink.
The carpet pattern.
The light fixture in the front area.
The dresser drawers.
We decided to wait until after we got on the road to stop for breakfast because neither one of us was really hungry yet. As soon as we started driving though, I was on the look out for a Subway. We have such a love for Subway’s breakfast sandwich and I was starving not 5 minutes after we left the hotel. One of the very first exits had one so we stopped for breakfast and then got back on the road.
The drive home was so short that I barely realized where we were until I saw the skyline. As I was trying to get out of the car, my legs reminded me exactly how long two hours of sitting still feels like. My boyfriend was laughing at me the whole time of course. It’s okay though because I laugh at him the day after he goes riding on his dirt bike. 😉
It was truly an amazing weekend. I accomplished something that I never thought was possible and I had a ton of fun doing it. Choosing a Disney race to be my first half marathon was one the best decisions ever! Of course, it has also spoiled me for every other big race I decide to run. 🙂
